By this point in the challenge, you’ve worked through the big decisions.
Layout. Rugs. Seating. Lighting. Art. Curtains. Styling.
Today is about one of the easiest finishing layers to overdo: greenery.
A room often looks better with something organic in it — but that does not mean filling every corner with a plant.
Sometimes one large branch arrangement does more than five small pots.
Sometimes a single tree in the right corner is enough.
And sometimes the room does not need greenery at all.

Think About What the Room Is Missing
Plants and branches can add:
- height
- softness
- movement
- color
- texture
- contrast against harder furniture
But before adding one, look at the room as a whole.
If you already have strong art, layered textiles and plenty of visual movement, another plant may just become one more thing.
If the room feels flat or overly structured, something organic can soften it immediately.

Before you buy another plant, try this:
Stand at the Entry and look toward the Living Room.
Where does your eye stop?
Where does the room feel too hard, too low, or too empty?
That tells you whether the space needs greenery, height, texture — or nothing at all.
That’s today’s challenge.
